About Me
Karin Lutz
My coaching experience began whilst a senior partner at EY where I led complex strategy projects and built and managed high-performing teams. My guiding principle was, and remains, to nurture and inspire ambitious professionals to grow and gain greater self-awareness, confidence, and collaborative skills. During my 30 years career in the professional services sector, I worked primarily with the C-suite. The focus of my work was the development, implementation, and monitoring of strategies.
I know first-hand the challenges that come with working in a highly competitive environment and dealing with long working hours and stress - all the while trying to remain authentic to yourself.

For many years, I worried constantly about ‘not being good enough’, ‘not letting people down’, ‘pleasing’ (and hence being liked by) every member of my team, as well as my hierarchy and my peers. My insecurities led me to over-perform and brought me financial rewards and social recognition. Yet I knew my mind, heart and gut were misaligned. I did not feel happy, and I forgot who I was and what mattered to me.

In 2019 came a warning sign: I had to be hospitalized, ostensibly to deal with a very long-running eating disorder and really because an acute form of ‘workaholism’ and burn-out. I realized this was no longer the life I wanted, realized I wanted to help others who may have had similar experiences, and make a difference in other people’s life, when and where I could.
I had been coached previously and in conversation with my executive coach I decided I wanted to undertake a coaching training certification - initially alongside my job at EY. Thanks to the training, I discovered the full power of coaching and grew and evolved in ways I could never have imagined. I realized that I could help others identify what’s important to them and learn and grow in the process.
"Balance is not something you find, it’s something you create."
– Jana Kingsford
My decision to embark on an extensive training program to become an ICF- certified Professional Coach led me to re-identify my core values, re-assess my purpose and my definition of success, i.e., for me building a fulfilled, balanced and purposeful life.
Work is just part of my life, not my entire life! Is it perfect? certainly not!! Like all human beings, I am a work in progress, constantly evolving and dealing with the challenges put in front of me to help me grow.
Originally from France, I have lived and worked in multiple countries in Europe and in the US. I train and coach in English and French, and also speak German.
